1. About This Policy
Ursora is an iOS app for creating, discovering, and coordinating outdoor Activities, including Activities involving shared transportation. This Policy explains the information Ursora handles, how it is used, when it may be visible to other users, and the choices available to you.
2. Information We Collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, Ursora uses your email address and account identifier. You may choose to provide profile information such as a display name, avatar selection, bio, country or state, languages, activity interests, travel preferences, and optional personality selections.
Activity and participation information
When you create, join, or manage an Activity, Ursora may handle information such as the Activity title, description, type, schedule, destination, departure area, transportation mode, capacity, estimated costs, participation notes, and Activity status.
If you apply to join an Activity or offer to drive, Ursora may handle your application or offer status, requested party size, available seats, optional application message, guest nicknames, acceptance status, and participation history.
Messages
Activity participants may send group-chat messages. Ursora handles message content, message timing, sender information, and read-state information needed to provide the chat experience.
Place information
Ursora uses places that users actively choose for Activities, such as destinations, departure areas, and, where applicable, meeting or pickup locations. Selected place information may include precise coordinates or other details needed to provide Activity functionality.
Ursora does not request your device’s current location or background location.
Ride-seeking information
For ride-seeking Activities, Ursora may handle requested party size, available passenger seats, driver-offer status, and driver assignment information.
Safety and moderation information
If you submit a Report, Ursora may handle the reported user, Activity, or chat-message reference; the report category; optional details you provide; your account reference while available; and report status or internal review information needed for safety and abuse review. Ursora also stores the Block relationships you create to enforce your Blocks.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts and profiles.
- Create, display, discover, and administer Activities.
- Process applications, driver offers, membership, cancellations, completion, and participation history.
- Enable Activity coordination and group chat.
- Show information that users choose to make visible through their profiles or Activities.
- Operate, protect, and review safety or abuse concerns involving the service.
- Process account deletion and retain the limited history described below.
Ursora does not currently use your information for advertising, cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking, or third-party analytics.
4. Information Visible to Other Users
Ursora is a social Activity-coordination service. Some information you submit is intended to be visible to other users.
Your public profile may include your display name, bio, avatar selection, country or state, languages, activity interests, travel preferences, and optional personality selections.
Activity information visible to others may include the organizer’s public profile presentation and information such as the title, description, schedule, destination label, departure-area label, transportation mode, capacity, and participation information appropriate to the Activity.
Link-only Activities are not listed in public discovery. However, people who receive an Activity link may be able to view the information available through that link. Please share Activity links carefully.
Some information is available only to people with an appropriate relationship to an Activity, such as accepted members or other authorized participants.
Your email address and internal account information are not part of your public profile or ordinary public Activity views.
Reports, Block relationships, reporter identity, and internal moderation information are restricted and are not part of ordinary public profiles, Activities, Trips, chat, or Direct Link views.
5. Meeting and Pickup Information
Meeting and pickup information—such as meeting time, place name, address, coordinates, and instructions—is treated as restricted coordination information.
Public Activity presentation is more limited than the place information used to manage an Activity. Exact meeting information is intended for authorized Activity relationships, not general public viewing.
6. Safety, Reports, Blocks, and Content Review
Reports
Users can report a user, an Activity, or a chat message. We use report information for safety, abuse prevention, investigation, review, and enforcement where necessary. The person reported is not given the reporter's identity through normal product interfaces. We review reports as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service; we do not promise a particular response time.
Blocks
When you Block another user, Ursora stores the relationship needed to enforce that Block. The other user is not shown who blocked them. Blocks may limit future discovery and new interactions where applicable. A shared current Activity, its necessary coordination, or related history may remain available; Blocking does not automatically cancel an Activity or delete chat history.
Limited content filtering and manual review
Ursora uses limited automated rules to reject certain clearly prohibited text before it is stored. Rejected text is not separately retained as moderation evidence. Ambiguous or contextual content may instead be handled through Reports and manual review.
Authorized personnel may review Reports and relevant content with access limited to what is reasonably necessary. Ursora may take narrow actions on violating content or accounts where available. Ursora does not use AI, machine-learning, or third-party automated moderation, and does not automatically archive every reported item.
7. How We Share Information
We may share information:
- With other Ursora users when it is part of your public profile, an Activity you create or join, an application or participation relationship, or an Activity chat.
- With service providers that help operate Ursora.
- When you choose to share an Activity link through Apple’s system sharing feature. The destination you choose receives the content you share and handles it under its own practices.
Service providers that help operate Ursora may also process technical and operational information, such as IP addresses and network information; technical information about the device, browser, or app used to access the service, where applicable; authentication and security events; and request metadata, status, error, or diagnostic information. This information is used to operate the service, support authentication and security, prevent abuse, maintain reliability, and troubleshoot problems. Provider retention periods and configurations may vary.
8. Place Search and Maps
Ursora uses Apple MapKit for place-search and map functionality. When you use place search, Apple may handle your search and selected-place information under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Ursora retains selected place information needed to provide Activity functionality. A departure-area label may be shown with an Activity. Public Activity views use a destination label and do not show precise destination coordinates.
9. Data Retention
Ursora retains information for as long as needed to operate the service and preserve useful Activity history.
- Core Activity information and limited structured participation history may remain after an Activity ends.
- When an Activity is completed, did not occur, or is cancelled, structured meeting and pickup information is cleared.
- Group-chat messages and chat read-state information are deleted 90 days after an Activity ends.
- For rejected, withdrawn, or expired applications, temporary application messages and guest nicknames are cleared 90 days after the application closes.
- For accepted applications, temporary application messages and guest nicknames are cleared 90 days after the related Activity ends.
- Free-text explanations for cancellations, removals, and departures are cleared after one year. Limited structured status and timing information may remain.
- Limited ride-seeking and participation history may remain where useful for Activity history.
- Ursora does not automatically preserve a copy of every reported item. For actionable or escalated cases, limited relevant evidence may be preserved while a case is open and, after closure, for up to one year where needed for safety or investigation. Access to that evidence is restricted.
- Account deletion may result in earlier deletion or anonymization where designed.
10. Your Choices and Account Controls
Depending on the Activity state, you can use the app to:
- Edit your profile.
- Sign out.
- Delete a draft Activity.
- Cancel an Activity you organize.
- Withdraw an application or driver offer.
- Leave an Activity where that option is available.
- Delete your account.
Ursora does not currently offer an in-app data-export tool, sent-message editing or deletion, or a general privacy-preferences dashboard. You may send privacy questions or requests to privacy@ursora.app.
11. Account Deletion
You can request account deletion through the app.
Deleting an account removes the account and profile, and drafts owned by the deleted account are removed. Associated personal data is deleted or anonymized as supported by the product lifecycle and retention rules.
Some already published or ended Activity and participation history may remain in limited form where needed for surviving participants, service integrity, or service history. Ursora does not retain a deleted account's identity solely to preserve history. Remaining permitted information follows the retention practices described in this Policy.
12. Security
Ursora uses measures designed to protect information, including access controls and restricted access to sensitive information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Age Requirement
Ursora is intended for adults age 18 or older. Ursora does not collect date of birth and does not independently verify a user's age or identity. The current release does not enforce an 18+ self-attestation requirement.
14. Third-Party Services
Ursora currently uses:
- Supabase, a service provider used to operate account authentication and Ursora’s backend and database infrastructure.
- Apple MapKit, an Apple platform service used for place search and maps.
- Apple system sharing, only when you choose to share content from Ursora.
These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Ursora changes. If we make a material update, we will revise the Policy and may ask users to review an updated version where appropriate.
